1-1/4 Ram Pump GPM

I team up with two friends of mine to find out how many gallons per minute the 1-1/4″ ram pump will use. We use a 5 gallon bucket with a garden hose as the delivery pipe to find how many gallons are pumped. Then we use a 13 gallon tub to catch the water that is lost in the pumping process. Now using this method to find the GPM is a little off because the water found at the delivery end is going to very as the hight is changed. A much better way to test GPM would be to have a known amount of water and let it drain out and time how long it takes.
